Aida CATANA is a Phd student at the Economic Cybernetics and Statistics Doctoral School of Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) in Romania. Her field of study refers to the role of the European Structural Funds in the development of local communities. More specifically, she focuses on the manner in which statistic analysis can measure the impact of structural funds at local level, in the context of Romania’s centralized EU funding management system. Aida’s educational and professional background illustrates her interest in public policies and EU funding. She has a Masters degree on Management of EU Funds from the European Academy for Taxes, Economics and Law in Berlin / Germany and she worked as public servant in different Romanian institutions, as expert for local or international organizations and is presently also managing her own consultancy firm.
